Thanks for the wonderful comments both BEFORE and AFTER the
concert!
Hi Lonnie,
The date of the concert will be February 16th.  I have had sooo many  people tell me how
excited they are that you will
be coming back for another concert.
The last one you did for us was such a great blessing to us.  I know that we will have more
people this year!  I have had
no problem in getting people to help me with this either, after the
last one, they want to help!   Thank you so much for
your ministry, we are looking forward to
having you come again.  God bless you Lonnie!!!!      Susan Smallwood

Hi Lonnie,
I have been meaning to e-mail you today to let you know how very much
we
appreciated having you at VCC the other night.  I did not hear of anyone who did not have a
good time
Saturday night. I am glad that you feel like family there, we have some very good
people at VCC.  I would
really like to make this an annual event as well.  I appreciate you
singing "I can only eat salad" the other night.  I had several people ask me if you would be
singing it again.  And now they have another
favorite, the Costco song.  We will certainly be
keeping you in our prayers!  I see that you will be Springfield,
OR next month.  I have family
there that I am going to encourage to go to see you there.  Take care Lonnie, and
may God richly bless you!!!

To Anyone Who Serves the Lord with Gladness:
Greetings and Good News!  The Huron Church of the Nazarene in Huron.SD was the

site of a wondrous outpouring of God's love, and His love of His childrens' laughter
as Christian comedian Lonnie Swonger and family visited our congregation and
blessed us
with a totally new experience.  We have had drama groups, evangelists,
puppeteers, but never a comedian and so were just a bit
apprehensive, though
admittedly curious as well.  No fear; the Spirit of Christ was near.  Lonnie is truly a
man of God, gifted in
making a joyful noise and in helping others worship in a new
and unique way.  Our service was marked by not only laughter,
but a sense of real
joy in having actually worshipped the Lord, not being "entertained".  We were
stretched in our thinking, asked to
reflect on life and its challenges, and were
witnesses to how God can and does use any and all who are  willing to share their
divinely
appointed gifts.  Lonnie Swonger is a man used of God; a man using God's
gifts; a man giving of himself to others.  We had a
wonderful time in personal
sharing, his family and ours.  Unlike today's secular, sensual humor, Lonnie's
message was always
appropriate, always genuine, and always reflective of the inner
work of God in his life.  My recommendation and referral for
him is unreserved,
wholehearted.  Our only regret is he is so very far away from us.  We would have
him back in a heartbeat.
The church today needs more laughter; your church today would do well to have
Lonnie. .  In Christ, Rev. Carl Black,

I want to recommend the ministry of Lonnie Swonger to your church. He was well-received by
our congregation. From time-to-time
our people need to be reminded that there is joy in our
salvation, and Lonnie was able to do that with his humor and music. It was
superb!

I think that you are the best entertainment I have had. You are a great comedian and
I appreciate you coming to Centennial. "I can
only eat salad" Can i get the lyrics to
that? Flip-Flop? Thanks again. Whitney and I think that you would be great for our 7th
grade talent show. God Bless U. Your little sister in Christ, Megan
We want to thank you for coming all this way to share with our little group for the
evening. I've heard nothing but positive
comments. The people enjoyed it immensely.
It's your spirit, Lonnie, that I so appreciated. You have obviously not had a

particularly easy life, but you maintain such a positive, cheerful outlook, and convey a
Christlike spirit. Thank you for that. And God
bless both of you this Christmas, and in
the year ahead.
Pastor Paul Shelp
Lonnie, I just wanted to get on here and thank you for gracing our Bay Area Foursquare Church in Coos Bay
with your fine voice and
humor! You are a true blessing, and brought precious moments of joy
into our already joyous lives. I'm a firm believer that God wants us to
have all the joy we can handle (and
wants to teach us to handle more), and you're a pretty good carrier! I very much look forward to the next time
we meet and we would welcome you onto our worship team any time you
could come.

To Whom It May Concern,
It was a blessing and joy to have Lonnie Swonger minister at our dinner/comedy theater in February 2006.  Through his
humor and music Lonnie helped us to laugh at the world, to laugh at
ourselves and to see God’s incredible love for us as demonstrated through Jesus Christ.
Lonnie has a servant’s heart and many of our people were blessed to have the opportunity to meet with him after the
program.
Lonnie’s humorous  perspective on life is disarming and refreshing and it kept us laughing all evening.  Our evening was
designed for our people to invite their unchurched friends, which many did, and
every one had a great time as they experienced Lonnie’s ministry and God’s love.
I can highly recommend Lonnie as an effective servant of God.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at
541-772-6926 or mark@medfordfriendschurch.org.
In Christ,
Mark Burton, Pastor

Dear Lonnie,
Thank you for your excellent ministry at our high school baccalaureate service and for Father's Day at our church.  The
students at the baccalaureate service were as responsive as I've ever seen
them and your message was not only highly entertaining, but connected well.  Your humor for our Sunday Father's Day
service was refreshing and touched our congregation in a positive way.
Thanks again for sharing with us and using your gift of humor to communicate the profound truth of God's love.  God bless
you in all your endeavors for Him.
Sincerely,
Pastor Glen Gibson

To Whom It May Concern:
Recently it was our privilege to have Mr. Lonnie Swonger as a special guest for an event which was planned for young
adults.  At our request, he presented a very pleasant program which was well
received.  He gave us good Christian comedy entertainment which was interspersed with musical presentations.  The
blend was excellent and we appreciated the manner in which he spoke to
the young adults on their level and to their needs.
We wish for him the best as he plans now to expand his ministry, feeling he has talents which are unique and useful to the
Kingdom of God.

We had more folks that Sunday night than we have had on Sunday Morning at times!  Thanks!

Thanks for the joyful evening at Eastside Family Church this past
Sunday.
Your humor struck many chords in this baby boomer.  You briefly
mentioned
health trials, but your real joy and humor and love for Christ shines
through as a model for Christians to count all things joy.

Dear Lonnie,
Thanks for a refreshing morning. My wife noted that this came at a good time for our folks who are extremely busy and right
in the middle of harvest. Thanks for sharing Christ in the manner you did.

Dear Lonnie & April,
Just wanted to say “thanks” again for your ministry to us this past Sunday morning! It was funny, yet thought provoking, too!
Though everyone I’ve heard from enjoyed your presentation, I must tell
you that you especially touched the hearts of our teens! They were still laughing and talking about you at our evening
service. God bless you as you continue to serve our Lord!

This past year it was a delight to have Lonnie Swonger as an entertainer at our Valentines “Heart to Heart” banquet. We
found Lonnie to be warm, personable, enlightening and very funny. He has the
unique ability to combine Biblical truth and humor in a creative way. The listener will not only laugh but find themselves
saying, ”I never thought of it that Bible story in this  way before.”  Thanks
Lonnie for being Jesus with a smile.

To Whom It Concerns,
In our hurried, high energy world of ‘rush and go’ we often forget what its like to take the time to laugh. Laughter really is a
great kind of medicine for the weary. It releases us from the tensions of all that
is occupying our minds. Few have the gift of humor.
Lonnie Swonger recently performed a ‘Lonnie Swonger Night of Comedy’ for our congregation.  There were multiple skits
and vignettes from Lonnie’s own life and the lives of famous personalities as
well as biblical people. Lonnie weaved these stories in and out of wonderful projected powerpoint images to enhance the
message he was trying to convey. What a special night of laughter at life
often with subtle Christian truths weaved into the sketches. Lonnie’s years being a radio broadcaster comes through in the
professionalism of his performance.
Lonnie also intertwines his beautiful high tenor voice into his presentation. Many of the songs that he may sing are songs
that he has written. I highly recommend Lonnie to you for event
entertainment and unique ministry opportunities. Lonnie will leave you with a wholesome rediscovery of what it is to enjoy
life through his ‘fun filled’ creative ministry. Several years ago, there was a
commercial that coined the slogan, ‘Try it, you will like it.’ I am sure if you give Lonnie an opportunity, he will be a delight to
you.
Sincerely,
Jim Franklin, Associate Pastor

TO                Whom It May Concern
FROM                Merilyn Thompson, Registrar
Northwest Nazarene University
RE                Response to Lonnie Swonger’s Volunteer Luncheon Presentation
On November 11,  the Office of the Registrar held a thank you luncheon for those who had volunteered in the Registrar’s
Office.  We asked Lonnie Swonger if he could provide the entertainment for the
ladies.  I had seen Lonnie’s performance last year as he was beginning his work as a Christian Comedian.
Lonnie’s performance began with a booking date.  He provided me a copy of the materials he would use and we
communicated about the focus on volunteers.   He also gave me a list of the technology
needs for the performance.  This communication helped me to understand his professionalism is setting up the
performance with needed details beforehand.
The performance was very well done and was received with laughter and applause.  As a former teacher in the field of
public speaking and performance, I was especially impressed with Lonnie’s
timing and transitions.  The timing was perfect and the transitions were smooth.  Lonnie comes from a background in
radio, and one can clearly pick up on his past experience.  The material was
well suited for the audience.  His impressions were clever.  Lonnie was also able to move from humor to a sense of
compassion and tenderness through his transitions and the stories he shared.
Lonnie also has a powerful singing voice that adds another element to his performance.
I have been very impressed with Lonnie Swonger the Christian Comedian.  I highly recommend him for church services,
gatherings, and parties.  He will add laughter and tenderness to the
occasion.

An evening with Lonnie Swonger was the most hilarious and the best entertainment we have had in a long time. We
laughed until our sides ached. Not only was it entertaining and funny, it was
clean an uplifting with a great spiritual emphasis. We left with a real assurance that being a Christian is fun and exciting,
yet deep and inspirational and an opportunity to enjoy life with a smile.

Just as God would have it, I was able to find an open  date, Valentine’s Day, on the calendar of my
friend, Christian comedian, Lonnie Swonger.  I made the arrangements with him and he was able to
be with us, along with his lovely wife, April, for a Valentine’s Day dinner and performance at the
church that was a family event.
Lonnie is a very funny guy.  He had the crowd in various stages of laughter, giggling, snickering,
and down right quiet throughout the evening.  There was also some audience participation in
which he did not embarrass the audience members, well, not too much.
It was a blessing to also hear Lonnie share about his personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  His
testimony contained a lot of humor, but also contained the glorious hope he found in his risen
redeemer.
I want to heartily recommend Lonnie to you and your church.  His ministry will leave you laughing
and thoroughly blessed.
May God richly fill your life with laughter, song, and
a great testimony of hope!
